for a world 300 years away.

He wants to protect her -
and more if she'll let him
But who can she trust amidst the secrets and lies?
A killer is out there - and Amy has nowhere to hide...
Wow how do I describe this book? Well it is one of the best books that I have EVER read, let alone one of the best of 2011!
I am in awe that Beth Revis had the imagination to create such an amazing idea and went even further and made it into an amazing story!
Im going to start with Amy. I am so glad that Beth Revis wrote Amy in a way that made her likeable and relatable. There is nothing I hate more that being able to relate to a character. Now I'm not saying that I have been frozen in time and trapped in space and that I have been awaken 50 years earlier because that would be a lie but I can relate to Amys feelings of alienation. I mean who hasn't felt alienated at one point during their life? I love how Amy has this little infatuation with running. It's nice to read about a character that loves something that isn't drawing or reading, there is so many books that feature characters that love to read and draw. I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with that. In point of fact I love characters like that but it was refreshing to read about a character that likes something different.
Elder. God how I love that name. I'll be honest and say that I did giggle at some of the names in this book but that doesn't mean I didn't like it! I love how he wants to help Amy, he wants to show her that she's not alone and that he's there for her. He was deffinately a character that I remembered way after I finished this book. (I finished it awhile ago but haven't gotten round to writing a review for it).
I particularly liked one of the non-main characters, if you read the book I'm sure you'll realise who it is. I can't say too much about him without spoiling it so I'm going to move swiftly along. P.S I love him.
I wouldn't say that I found this book predictable. I did find little parts predictable but when I thought I had figured something its almost as if the characters went 'hell no!' and did something unpredictable! I love that!
When I finished this book I wanted to read more! I finished and went 'NO! I need more!'. I cannot wait for the second book! Trust me I am counting down the days! I cannot wait to see what happens next to Amy and Elder!

Review: Forgotten by Cat Patrick
Summary from Goodreads:
Each night when 16 year-old London Lane goes to sleep, her whole world disappears. In the morning, all that's left is a note telling her about a day she can't remember. The whole scenario doesn't exactly make high school or dating that hot guy whose name she can't seem to recall any easier. But when London starts experiencing disturbing visions she can't make sense of, she realizes it's time to learn a little more about the past she keeps forgetting-before it destroys her future.
I picked this book up in the library a few days after it was released but I've only gotten round to writing a review for it now.
Okay, firstly, I don't like the main characters name. I don't know why but I don't like London Lane. But that did not stop be from enjoying the book.
For ages I have been waiting for a book like this. I've always wanted to read a book in which the main character can't remember what happened to her the day before. When I began the book I thought it would be like 50 first dates and I hate that film so I slowly started it. After a few chapters I realised that it wouldn't be like 50 first dates (thank god).
London is a strong character and I love how she looks out for her best friend, Jamie. She really made me think if I could be as strong and determined as she is when she can't remember what happened yesterday and she has to rely on notes to tell her, but sometimes the notes don't tell her everything. How would you cope with that? I hate not being able to remember things, it's really annoying, so how would I manage if I was London and I couldn't remember my past? London remembers her future but not her past, I would prefer to know my past rather than my future, it would be horrible. Plus she's in high school. She learns something one day and has to relearn it again. I think thats why I liked London so much, yes I don't like her name but I like her as a character. Infact she's one of my favourite characters from a book I think ever in all the books I've read.
Luke. How do I describe Luke? Well I like Luke, infact I could go as far as to say that I love Luke. He's one of the nicest male characters I've come across in a while! I love the first date between him and London. It's lovely! I want a guy like Luke. Where can I find one? When London had a little vision of the future with Luke and a certain incident happened I was rather upset! I was reading it and think 'no! That can't happen'.
Okay, now Jamie. I found Jamie slightly annoying. But it was only slightly annoying, I like her overall. She's a rebel and I like that!
I love the little twist involving Londons brother. Let's just say I wasn't expecting it! That's all I'm going to say! You have to read this book right now! You won't understand fully why I love this book so much until you read it for yourself!

Review- Dark Angel by Eden Maguire

Okay so where do I begin? I suppose at the beginning.
When I began I was immediately drawn in by the main character, Tania. There is something about her that just made me want to know what was going to happen to her. It's rather difficult to explain. She's strong, I think thats why I like her so much. I really hate reading books that have weak female characters. Eventhough the book is from the point of view of Tania there is still a bit of mystery surrounding her. She has a larger than life 'imagination'. Her mother says its because she's creative.........you must read to find out. She's with Orlando but her entire world doesn't revolve around him (unlike a certain girl in a certain saga of books revolving around sparkly blood suckers).
I didn't like Orlando at certain times during the book. I did like him at times don't get me wrong but I thought that he was a bit self absorbed and annoying! He's meant to be in love with Tania but he gives up on their relationship so easily when he gets slightly annoyed!
I adored the mystery surrounding Zoran and co. It really kept me reading! I wanted to know what they were up to.
The writing in this book is really strong and descriptive. Descriptive writing is the best and helps to keep the story alive. I am so glad that the writing was strong because I hate reading books that have weak writing!
There was so many twists in this book! Who doesn't love a good twist. It kept me wondering what would happen next and I never guessed correctly.
The ending! Oh God the ending! I loved it! It left me wanting more right away, and I was wondering 'Will Zoran be back?' 'Will Tania and Orlando stay together?'.
If you read this book you will not be dissapointed! Go read it now!

Author Interview: Kate Fuentes
This was meant to be posted earlier but my laptop broke.
Today I have Kate Fuentes author of Elements.
Hi there, please introduce yourself.
My name is Kate Fuentes, author of the YA fantasy series ELEMENTS. I love spending time with my family, enjoying the outdoors, I adore shopping for shoes, I like sappy love stories, watching movies and I have a bit of a competitive streak!
When did you first realise that you wanted to write books?
I have always dabbled with literary story telling and often created short stories as a child. I was lucky enough to have been encouraged to use my imagination as much as possible and did so through writing, when I was not outdoors building forts and galavanting with imaginary friends. The first story I can remember writing was in second grade for a Halloween project about a scared ghost. I think my mother still has the project safely tucked away in her hope chest.
What inspired you to write your first book?
I am extremely proud to say my children are the reason I wrote my first novel. My eldest son had asked me to create a story for us to read at night before they went to sleep. My intention was to write a short story, but I let my imagination take over, as I often do, and 50,000 words later I had a novel. I wanted to demonstrate to my children to follow through with your aspirations, no matter how old or young someone might be, it's never too late to follow your dream.
Is there anything you find particularly challenging about writing a book?
Currently, my biggest challenge in writing a book is TIME. I normally write after 10pm until about 2am on weekdays and maybe get a few more hours on the weekends. I have two children who are full time students along with their extra curricular sports activities, not to mention the normal happenings of everyday family life plus the added bonus of working a full time job during the week. I'm so glad I have a naturally high energy level, can you imagine if I actually drank coffee? That might be a bit too scary for my family to tolerate!
Is there any new authors that have caught your attention? If so, why?
I have met several authors through my social media connections, and have had the pleasure of reading some of their work. Currently, my favorite new author is Raine Thomas, creator of the Daughters of Saraqael series. I enjoyed reading her books and I am looking forward to the follow up series coming in 2012.
How did you come up with the title for your book?
ELEMENTS was a given for the title of my books because of my characters extraordinary elemental abilities of fire and water. I like books that have a main title followed by a subtitle. It makes it easier for the reader to track down the installments in a series. I'm all about comfort and ease!
Who is your favourite author and what really strikes you about there work?
I don't have 'one' favorite author, but a lot of authors whose work I appreciate for different reasons. I am not one to stick to a specific genre. I like to bounce around depending on the mood I'm in. I do the same thing with music...depends on my mood. I like to read works by Cassandra Clare, Diana Gabaldon, Nicholas Sparks, Nora Roberts, Suzanne Collins, Stephenie Meyers as well as classics from Austen, Dumas, and anything Greek Mythology. I also enjoy reading poetry, but fiction is close to my heart and young adult is my passion!
What books have influenced you most?
Growing up in a household where your older sister is a bookworm had a huge influence on me. She is the one who introduced me to Greek Mythology and I was hooked right away. I was heavily involved in sports, but always found time to read Mythology. Eventually I gravitated to young adult and really never strayed too far from it, even though I have obviously expired the young adult age limit, if one exists.
What are you reading now?
I am currently reading the River of Time series by Lisa T Bergren. I'm on the last book, Torrent. I've really enjoyed the stories so far.
How long does it take you to write your book?
It seems to vary, but my first book took eight months to write. I wasn't planning on publishing, so it was put on the back burner quite often. The second book was written in two months. If I didn't have a full time job I think I would be able to construct a solid novel in two weeks time. I like to research thoroughly and tend to add tid-bits to each chapter after I have already passed them. It's a really bad habit, but it works for me. I will be starting my third book during the Christmas break and hope to get a great portion done. Wish me luck!
Do you have any advice for aspiring writers?
My only advice for aspiring writers is to always follow your heart and have faith in yourself, even if it feels as if no one else is on your side. Being a writer can be a lonely business and a tough market to break in to. Perseverance is the key! If you are determined to become an author, stick to your path and follow it regardless of the bumps in the road trying to detour you. Everyone has the right to be heard!
Finally, where can we find out more about you and your books?
