Charachter 1

Candra Delano was different. For once she never smiled, her mouth was pulled into a permanent frown. She never looked remotely interested in anything. Her teal eyes were troubled. They never showed any love or affection towards anyone or anything. She looked like someone who has been through more tragedies than anyone her age should have to go through. She was a small girl and most woudn't have paid any attention to her if it werent for the fact that no one knew anything about her. She was hiding something. Everyone knew it. One kid even got so nosey that they hired a private investigator to follow her and he found nothing. It was as if she knew someone was following her. No one knew anything about her except where she lived. She lived by herself and had moved to New Salem two years ago. No one knew where she moved from . Some guessed that she came from somewhere in California, because of her tanned skin. Never once did she talk. Not even when a teacher asked her a question. She just sat and stared at them. Eventually they moved on. Somehow she managed to get straight A's. She'd never made any friends. She was afraid of getting too involved, but she would never tell anyone that. She saw it as a weakness. No one would ever find out anything about her. Not unless she wanted them to. In that case they would never find anything about her. She would always be the tanned girl that no one knew anything about. And that's the way she wanted it to be.

I would really appreciate it if you would give your opinions on this charachter.
The lead male charachter coming soon :)

Why? What do they get out of it?

Recently my English teacher gave my class an assignment. We had to write about the positive and negative factors of social networking sites. We also had to research one negative story involving various social networking sites.
My research lead me to the very publised case of Pheobe Prince, a fiftenn year old girl who hanged herself after months of bullying. I wont go into detail on the case. If you wish to know more simply search Pheobe Prince on google. I was appalled whe I read the details of her bullying and it begs the question "why would someone want to do that to another human being?" No one should be treated this way because of who they used to date, where they come from. They should be treated because of the things they do.
Bullying is a serious issue and is present in every school. Some schools have a more serious case of bullying. Social networking sites seem to make bullying easier as they can simply delete their comments and pretend they didnt do anything.
Anyone who bullies someone so much that they end up commiting suicide should be charged no matter what their age! They should have to face the consequences of their actions!

Here we go again

I am aware that most of you (well those who are still in school) will probably already have had over a week of school. I was meant to post this in august but I was busy getting ready for getting back to school. School has never been my favourite thing in the world but I am grateful that I am able to attend school at all, many dont have that oppurtunity. Today is september 11th 2011, the tenth anniversary of the terrorist attacks in America that claimed the lifes of nearly 3000 innocent people. RIP to all who died that day, you will never be forgotten.
Now that school is back and I will be going into my GCSE years I unfortunately wont be able to read as much or write. Therefore I wont be writing many reviews (not that I had many anyway) if you would like to see what Im reading then follow me on twitter @lovereading_21 or add me as a friend on goodreads www.goodreads.com/lovereading21
Of course back to school  brings back the drama of last year, it seems that some people cant let go of the small things that happened in school last year. I hope that eventually they will be able to move on. I have realised that I am rambling on a bit. I shall leave now. Feel free to add me on goodreads or follow me on twitter, ask for a follow back.
Thanks, Leona :)
